CUSTOMS CONSULTANCY

The job description of the customs consultant is stated in the Customs Law No. 7681 with the following expressions; “Customs consultants can follow up and conclude all kinds of customs transactions.” Other professional responsibilities of the customs consultant can be grouped under the following headings;

• To determine the taxes and duties to be paid on behalf of the customer,
• To prepare necessary import documents such as customs invoices, certificates of origin and cargo control documents and to sign documents on behalf of the customer using a power of attorney,
• Preparing import and export documents in accordance with customs regulations, laws or procedures,
• Advising customers on import and export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements, quotas or other customs-related matters,
• Contacting customs brokers at ports to speed up the discharge of cargo.

IMPORT PROCEDURES

• Conducting feasibility studies on the goods to be imported
• Receiving a summary statement from the transportation company.
• Having the bill of lading endorsements of the documents (if any)
• Receiving the order order.
• To determine the GTIPs related to the goods.
• Making a cut
• Calculating customs taxes, duties and charges accurately.
• Starting the customs acceptance and registration process and inspecting the goods.
• Making accruals and making the relevant guarantee and tax payments.
• To deliver to the desired location of the company and to deliver it physically to its officials.
• Delivering the documents to you with the document delivery form

EXPORT PROCEDURES

• To identify GTIPs.
• To register for membership in relevant exporters' associations according to the type of goods.
• Procedures regarding obtaining preliminary permission from the relevant authorities, if any, and obtaining special documents within the framework of the export regime and the procedures and principles in the export regulations.
• After completing all the documents, preparing the customs exit declaration, having it accepted and registered at the relevant customs, and making its inspection and determination.
• Obtaining approval
• To deliver the documents that will accompany the goods to the transporter company, in accordance with the company's request.
